Rabbit Crossing

A Bunny Grows Up

A lane-crossing arcade game about growing up one crossing at a time. Eleven levels, and every one lays the board out differently — the traffic changes, the hazards change, and the bunny dresses for where it is.

How it plays

Hop forward into gaps. Everything moves in lanes and nothing waits for you, so a crossing is a sequence of small commitments rather than one run at it — and the board is never symmetrical, so the gap you want is rarely the one in front of you.

Each board is its own arrangement rather than the same board reskinned. Water rows want something to ride; road rows want a hole; some boards have both, stacked, and the last one has neither safely.

One file, no install

The whole game is a single HTML file: vanilla JavaScript on a canvas, no dependencies and no build step. It deploys by pulling a branch, and it opens on a phone with nothing to install and no account to make.

The leaderboard is replay-validated. A score arrives with the inputs that produced it, and the server replays them against the same deterministic simulation before it believes the number.

The eleven boards

The woods to the Tōkaidō, in the order you meet them.

The bunny dresses for where it is

One outfit per board, and you can start at any of them from the title screen.
