Party dungeon crawler
Early accessDownload now for PC and Mac
A first-person, grid-based party dungeon crawler in a datacenter that died generations ago and never switched off. Roll a party of up to six in Faraday, the shielded town at the top of the lift, ride the freight lift down into the dead sublevels, and fight in ranks down the corridor you are standing in.
Six classes, 127 protocols, 57 enemies and six hand-built sublevels so far. 5E compatible. Play signed in, with your saves kept on the server, or offline with no account at all.
Fetching the latest build’s details. If the download buttons are not here in a moment, reload the page.
One zip per platform. Pick yours and follow its steps — neither build is signed with a paid certificate yet, so your operating system will warn you the first time, and the steps say exactly what that looks like.
64-bit Windows 10 or 11, and a graphics card with Vulkan support.

The Windows build is not signed with a paid code-signing certificate yet, so Windows does not know who made it and says so the first time it runs. That warning is expected; it is not a sign that anything is wrong with the file. The checksum above is how to be sure the zip you have is the one published here.
Download Darkfiber-windows.zip. If the browser says it “isn’t commonly downloaded”, choose Keep.
Right-click the zip and choose Extract All. Don’t run the game from inside the zip.
Open the folder and run Darkfiber.exe. (Darkfiber.console.exe is the same game with a log window beside it, for reporting a bug.)
The first time, Windows SmartScreen may say “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway. It asks once for each new build.
To update, delete the old folder and extract the new zip. Cloud saves live on the server; offline saves live in %APPDATA%\Darkfiber and survive.
macOS 11 or later. One universal build runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

The Mac build is not notarised by Apple yet — that takes a paid developer account — so macOS will refuse to open it the first time, and the wording sounds worse than it is. That refusal is expected. Steps three and four are the one-time way past it, and the checksum above is how to be sure the zip is the one published here.
Download Darkfiber-mac.zip and double-click it to unzip it. Safari may have done that for you already.
Drag Darkfiber.app into Applications.
Open it. The first time, macOS refuses: “Apple could not verify Darkfiber is free of malware”. Click Done — not Move to Trash.
Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, scroll down to Security, click Open Anyway beside the Darkfiber line, and confirm with your password. It opens normally from then on. (On macOS 14 and earlier, right-click the app, choose Open, then Open again — that does the same thing.)
If it still won’t open, or says the app “is damaged”, run this once in Terminal and try again:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Darkfiber.app
To update, replace the app in Applications with the new one. Offline saves live in ~/Library/Application Support/Darkfiber and survive.
